Visa Extension

Foreigners who are in Ecuador as tourists with the type of T-3 visa, and wish to extend their visit in the country can apply for an extension visa for 90 more days. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the collaboration of the Ministry of the Interior through the Migration offices located throughout the Ecuadorian territory are authorized to issue this type of visa, upon presentation of the following requirements: - Application form - Proof of deposit ($ 125) - Passport The new extension visa can be obtained only once each chronological year, counting 12 months from the first time the person entered Ecuador with a T-3 visa. The government is currently offering “safe passage” to expats living here with an expired Visa, expats will be able to obtain a visa extension until December 20th, 2017 without fines.
